It has been a year since we took over our downstairs suite and started to convert it to a natural light, newborn photography studio. And I can safely say, it is finally finished. We may have broken the record for slowest renovation ever… but I am so thrilled with my little studio and the idea of being able to offer a relaxing, cozy space for my clients and their little ones. I have had a few sweet babies and their families come through my studio in the past few months (amidst the reno mess), and cannot tell you how much easier it is for me to work in the light that I know and the space that I love. And with all my blankets and wraps and lenses at hand. So with this in mind, I have decided to only offer traditional, posed (in the most natural, organic way possible) newborn sessions in my North Vancouver studio from here on. Because, this light, and this space, makes all the difference in creating photos like this. (The cute baby really helps too.)
Side note: I will continue to offer in-home newborn sessions, but they will be “lifestyle sessions” only – meaning I won’t be carting my beanbag and giant bag of blankets and wraps and heaters and wipes and cameras and lenses around with me anymore (phew). It will just be me and camera, and you and your baby.
